Tracking Down Talent: 5 Professionals Every Company Needs to Hire

Posted on April 21, 2017 by Aaron

Tracking down the right talent is one of the best ways to increase your small business’s chances of success. If your company has been holding off on hiring any of the five types of professionals listed here, then you should seriously reconsider.

1. Tech

Having dedicated IT professionals will ensure that your company is always going to have the right hardware and software for your needs that is updated regularly and maintained and troubleshot properly. They are also going to help prevent cybercrime and security breaches, as well as inconvenient or devastating downtime that could cost you a lot of money and productivity.

2. Marketers

Marketing and sales professionals are, in many ways, the most important people in a business, as without sales of your product or service, your company isn’t going to be around much longer. You need marketers to come up with targeted, customized strategies to get people to buy what you are selling.

3. Accountants

Having a dedicated accountant is going to become more and more important as your business grows in order to keep your business tax compliant and practicing good financial management. Bad financial management is a leading factor in why so many small businesses fold within one to two years, and hiring an accountant will help your company plan for the future, avoid audits and keep track of expenses you can deduct come tax time.

4. HR Professionals

HR professionals are integral to maintaining your workforce. They help identify and hire new employees who will be the best fit for your organization and deal with problems affecting your current employees. They can mediate and defuse issues among employees that can erupt and cause serious havoc as well as create your employee handbook and answer questions employees might have about company policy.

5. Independent Contractors

Hiring independent contractors or freelancers is often a very smart business move. For example, you might need creative copy occasionally written while not needing to hire a dedicated copywriter. Another example: especially if your business does not appear to be on the right track, hiring a business analyst can be a lifesaving decision, as he or she can examine your business and offer suggestions of changes to make. A business analyst with an MBA is going to be particularly knowledgeable. Find out more about MBAs here.

If you want to run a successful business, or more importantly, grow it, you’ll have to bring the right people on board. If you haven’t already made arrangements with the professionals listed in this article already, you need to seriously consider doing so.
