Feminine Focus: 4 Ways Businesses Can Better Market to Women

Posted on March 2, 2017 by Aaron

Marketing to women is perhaps one of the smartest things businesses can do. Women have 70 to 80 percent spending power, which is a pretty good chunk. The only thing that you have to worry about is figuring out how to market to women effectively. The following are just four ideas that may help you attract more women to your business.

Sales

One way to attract women is with sales. A survey shows that women love sales more than coupons. This is one way to attract women to a particular item or the entire business.

Some businesses may not be able to offer sales, but discounts or rebates can be used instead. This trend has increased over the past few years, which could be linked to the recession the country went through. The point is that women want to feel like they are getting a bargain.

Reward Loyalty

Women seem to be interested in companies that appreciate their loyalty. It is important that a business shows gratitude by offering rewards for loyalty. This might be a good time to encourage employees to remember faces or names, if possible. Making sure that women feel like they are appreciated should help attract a loyal base of female consumers to your business.

This could be as simple as introducing a club-like aspect of your business, which helps create a sense of exclusiveness. Some women like the feeling of being a part of something that others are excluded from. Be sure to make it worth their while by providing gifts and additional discounts.

Styling

It is important to stylize advertisements to make sure they are attractive to women. Simplicity is still important just as it is when advertising to the general public, but women do usually respond better to stylized advertisements though this does depend on your business.

For one, women pay attention to colors and prefer lighter shades. Women also pay attention to aesthetics, so use different styles like vintage. So let’s say that your business wants to host a special event that targets women specifically. You’ll want to use an invitation creator and incorporate vintage or some other style in the creative process of it. This way, women will see it, be attracted to it, and be more driven to come.

Sampling

It seems like women respond to sampling, which can come in many forms. Businesses that sell a product should consider offering sample sizes to get customers to try the product. Businesses that offer a service could offer a first-time reduced price or even a free service so that potential customers can try out the service.

Sampling may seem like a loss, but it does create buzz, and it can help you get loyal customers. The key is to offer quality products or services that women can trust. Try to brand your business when giving out samples or services as much as possible, which helps people remember your company.

These are just some ideas that may help you attract more women to your business. Be sure to pay attention to your female customers to find out what needs you might not be meeting, which can help you figure out your next step.
