Employee Appreciation: 4 Thoughtful Ways To Thank Your Employees

Posted on June 6, 2017 by Aaron

Your employees are one of the most important parts of your company. Without them, it would be difficult to properly serve the needs of your customers. Therefore, it is always a good idea to show appreciation for their efforts whenever possible. Let’s take a look at some ways that this can be done.

Give Them A Bonus

One of the easiest ways to show appreciation for the work that your people have done is to give them extra money in their paycheck. Whether you choose to give everyone a bonus or only a few people, it is a great way to keep your best performers from leaving your company. If you do choose to give a cash bonus, don’t forget to withhold taxes like you would with regular wages.

Take Them On A Nice Outing

Another great way to show that you care about your workers is to take them to a fancy restaurant or club that your people may not otherwise have a chance to visit. You should have an open bar and pay for a meal or some other item within the establishment. This enables everyone to have a relaxing night out and get to know their colleagues as people outside of the office.

Host An Employee Breakfast

An employee breakfast featuring upscale bread, like the products of Klosterman Baking Company, and other food can be an effective way of saying thank you to your people. The breakfast can be held either on a day that everyone has off or before the workday gets started. While it may not be as fun as getting $500 in their next paycheck, your employees will appreciate not having to buy food that morning.

Help Your Employees Meet Their Goals

Helping your employees meet their professional or personal goals can be an effective way of showing that you care about your workers as people. For instance, you could help a worker gain the skills needed to get a promotion or pay his or her dental bills to help overcome a self-confidence problem. You could also give your workers time off to volunteer for a cause that they feel strongly about.

If you work to appreciate your employees, your employees will work hard as a sign of appreciation for your company. Whether you choose to give them money, host a breakfast or cover their personal expenses, the key is to make sure that the gift is thoughtful and helps you connect with your people on a more personal level.
