Age Discrimination


Under the Tennessee Anti-Discrimination Act, employers are prohibited from refusing to hire; terminating; limiting, segregating, or classifying; denying training opportunities to; or otherwise discriminating against an individual with respect to compensation or terms, conditions, or privileges of employment based on age. For the purposes of the Act, age means at least 40 years old, and an employer is defined as any person employing eight or more individuals within Tennessee, as well as an agent of such an employer.
