Whistleblower Protection


Employers may not discriminate against employees or applicants because they: 1) oppose any unlawful employment practice under the South Carolina Human Affairs Law, or 2) make a charge, testify, assist, or participate in an investigation, proceeding, or hearing concerning the South Carolina Human Affairs Law. For purposes of the states whistleblower protection, an employer is an individual that employs 15 or more individuals for each working day in 20 or more calendar weeks in the preceding or present calendar year.
